› Forums › Herpes Questions › GHSV1 transmission after 11 years?
Hi Teri,
I think my question got overlooked.
I have a question. I acquired GHSV1 about 10-11 years ago. I’ve only had two outbreaks. My first primary outbreak and then a second outbreak triggered by sex, 5-6 years later from my first outbreak. It’s been 4 years since my last outbreak and given that I’ve had this virus for about 10-11 years with two outbreaks what is my risk of transmission genitally to genitally? I’ve taken NO antivirals over the last 10 years.
I’ve given birth, had a 104 degree fever with Covid, been highly stress multiple times, and I didn’t have any reoccurrences during this time. What is the likelihood of having another outbreak after only having two in the last 10-11 years? Also, does shedding go down after 10 years? Is it possible to never have another outbreak again? Given how long my infection has been, does the amount of outbreaks diminish over time?
Actually I did answer this question. Shedding goes down after being infected for two years, we don’t have data on how much if more it goes down at 10 years.
Terri
