Hi Terri! In December I took a yearly std test, to my surprise I received a 1.27 index for hsv1 igg. I panicked, within a few days I retested. This time not doing a 10 panel screen but just hsv1,2 test. This came back about a week later as everything normal. Finally could breathe again. Well I went again for another full std screen a week ago. This time hsv1 came back as 1.18 index. Back to stressing out all over again. Two days later I went back for just Hsv test. I’m four days into waiting on results. At this point I understand only two ways to verify would be swabbing active area or western blot. But taking into consideration of what I mentioned above, what do you think of those results. 1.27decemeber, normal January , 1.18 august? Only issue I have with western blot is getting it shipped to me discreetly, also will a quest lab do test? Thank you

I just received my 4th test. Hsv1 igg is 1.26 now. That test was taken 4/5 days after the 1.18 index. HSV2 are all coming back negative. Don’t recall any outbreaks ever

Was final test 1.26 igg hsv1
Is this test equivalent to western blot as far as accuracy? Done by quest -

In your professional opinion what’re the chances I’m truly positive? Such a low reoccurring number after such time normal or probably positive? Thank you

Every time you the new question it moves you farther down the list leading me to think that this is a newer question and I answered the other questions first. The inhibition assay done by quest does not result in a number like 1.26. It results in a positive with a percent or a negative. I think you might be reading this incorrectly. I would suggest that you go back and look at it again. If the inhibition assay is negative then there is normally good agreement between someone who obtains a negative inhibition assay and subsequently obtains a negative western blot.
