Hello Terri,
Recently the women I was with had some Bacteria in the blatter problems so I went to get tested. I ended up testing positive for HSV-2 and a Urinary tract infection.
Once I found out I tested positive I did go into a panic and took 2 more tests the day I received the results. I’ve never had any symptoms, no flu like, hives, sores, itching or pain. None of that has came up. The last partner I was with did give oral without a condom but other than that I have used condoms. I’m 25 and do go to the gym and drink protein, but that is all the supplements I take usually.
The woman i was with did test negative for HSV-2 in November and Tested positive for HSV-1 igG:58
She is getting retested and we are waiting for the results.
First set of tests were done 1/5/23
HSV-2 igG: 1.2 with a supplemental results Negative. This was done from labcorp
Second test 1/13/23
IgG: 1.10 and supplemental Positive
I have yet to get the confirmation test I did from Quest back, but since the LabCorp ones were positive I assuming that it will be also.
I’m really just anxious of the possibility of a false positive, but I don’t know. Just reaching out for your opinion.
I know the only way to know for sure is the Western Blot test. Which I plan to do if it is recommended.
I suspect you are NOT Infected with HSV 2 because you’ve had such varying and low results, but yes, I certainly recommend the western blot. Stop doing IgG tests with these labs – they are a true mess.
Terru
Thank Terri, you definitely eased my anxiety a little. Still pretty bad right now, can’t sleep well, just been in a panic for the last week.
I think I will do the Western Blot test, I feel that will finally give me a solid answer that will help me.
I know it’s not the end of the world getting diagnosed but I just can’t shake this feeling.
What would you say the percentage of this being a false positive? Or just anything else you could say/show to help me calm down a bit.
Thanks
Got my confirmation test back….Was NEGATIVE
I had a false positive
Thanks so much for posting your results.
Terri
