received an erotic massage a few months ago and during I rubbed my index finger fairly vigorously over the masseuse crotch. She was wearing jeans, not sure if she was wearing underwear but I would assume so. I never touched her skin with my fingers and this contact with her jeans lasted a few minutes. It was fairly humid in the room, but not sure if any vaginal or HSV secretion, if she had and OB, reached my finger. I don’t know how much later as this instance with the masseuse has occurred multiple times. Either way I noticed a small painless skin textured red bump on my finger. My finger was neither tender nor blistered other than the small pencil eraser sized red bump. I even squeezed it a few times and nothing came out. The bump never changed color, shape, or size for about 2 -3 weeks. After I noticed there were no changes going on I decided to use a wart remover on the bump and it went away. I have had a cold sore before and this small skin textured red bump behaved nothing like a cold sore. Could this have possibly been a herpetic whitlow? Should I take a HSV blood test to ease my concerns?

This could not have been a herpes whitlow in regards to the experience with the erotic massage, no. The jeans took care of that risk, absolutely

Thank you for getting back so quickly. I have read previous posts regarding similar scenarios, but figuered I’d ask.
So despite the possibility of a micro abrasion on my index finger it is thought that HSV cannot infect through clothing? Why is that?
So I should absolutely get an HSV test? Would you recommend the typical antibody test or Western Blot? I have had cold sores before and take medication as needed for flare ups. So I will likely test for HSV-1, as I know it occurred from a kiss.
So, because the spot I mentioned does not give off the characteristics of whitlow and HSV is said to not transmit through clothes this is why you say absolutely not whitlow?
Sorry for the clarification on some things, I guess just getting my money’s worth before I proceed with anything. Regardless this experience has put me off from any high risk behavior such as this and it seems I possibly got off light.
Thank you for everything you do. I will await your response and continue with what you recommend. Thank you again.

No, THIS is what I said about the spot:
This could not have been a herpes whitlow in regards to the experience with the erotic massage.
I did not say this could not be herpes whitlow. I said you would not get herpes whitlow from this experience.
Herpes virus does not pass through clothing.Terri
