Hello. After having sex for the first time…I got a blister on the top of my hand. It was painful but I didn’t know what it was like maybe a misquito bite or something. At the time I also had an allergic reaction from a belt and had a little bump there as well. I know you shouldn’t do this but I popped both to alleviate pain. Also on my foot. This was years ago. Well then a full blown blister erupted on my hand. So I went to doctor and they tested for herpes and when I got results she said herpes 2 passed through my system so she had to say I was positive. I NEVER have gotten anything on my genitals or anywhere near it. However now like once or twice a year I will get an outbreak either on my hand, stomach where I stupidly popped the bump when I didn’t know what was going on, or on my foot. The only thing I can think of is that I can remember touching his penis when I had a cut on my hand. I was massaging it when he had secretions and I contracted it through that cut even before we had sex and then by popping other areas after the blister from my hand came and transmitted it myself to my stomach and foot. I just want to know if bc I only get these sores on dry regular skin if I can transmit it by my vagina with my boyfriend. And if I am shedding from my hand stomach and foot. She said it was herpes 2. I know this is a strange occurrence but I’ve been single for years since this bc I’m scared but now I have a new love and we haven’t had sex but he wants to marry me and I just want to know if this is a concern for us.

OK I am a little confused. I’m wondering if you are living in the US? Can you tell me what kind of test you had for herpes? Was it a swab test or a blood antibody test? Have you had sex since then? Have you talked with this person with whom you’ve had sex to determine if they have HSV 2? This is extremely unusual that you would only have herpes on your hand, foot and stomach but no genital symptoms. Please let me know more about the testing that was done. Do you have a copy? Do you live in the US?

Terri! Thanks so much for your reply. Yes I live in the U.S and I had a blood test the first time at my gynocoligist office. I was never mailed the results she just spoke with me over the phone ab my results. I asked the same question you did. “What do you mean passed through my system.” She said there are antibodies to only type two. Also….maybe this also will be of interest. I have a very abnormal condition of underactive thyroid. So I am hypothyroidism. I don’t know if that helps. Yes I had sex after waiting four years and was honest with him. Nothing happened to him but we always used protection. Then we broke up for other reasons and I haven’t since 2012. Then I waited a full year after that and ordered a test from online that was a blood test. It said the tests are 99% acurate. I testes for Hiv, both herpes, and hep c. All came back negative! So I went on thinking I didn’t have anything thinking maybe shingles but I usually get an eruption once or twice a year and shingles doesn’t return that often but my symptoms are like shingles but only coming from the one cluster at a time. So I’m confused too bc shingles are a streak of blisters. I. Only get on cluster at a time. Weird. Also ab my first experience…the whole reason I went to get tested is bc my boyfriend admitted that he had genital herpes before we met yet after we had sex. I know it devastated me bc it was my first time and I saved myself. 🙁 But yes to confirm….I only get a cluster on the non mucus skin or dry skin a top my hand, sole of my foot, or high mid stomach. I’ve been confused forever. And yes it looks like one cluster of cold sore herpes. Hope this helps. This feels so good to get this out. Hi

Has anyone ever swab tested the lesions? If not, that’s exactly what needs to be done, on all of these surfaces, separately. And it should be done using PCR, the most sensitive herpes swab test there is. In addition, I would like you to request a copy of the antibody test results from your doctor’s office and write me back the index value associated with the HSV 2 positive result please. So I’m a little confused.

Ok. So I called the office and they told me they did not have my records and couldn’t pull me up. I cried all morning. This has plagued me the wondering do I have it or not. I never get anything down there. The blisters always come back in the same place. I looked up some excema blisters today just to see. I do know that the doctor was acting weird when I first got my results almost like she wasn’t sure. I had to almost ask her …so am I positive or not. The passing through my system was just too vague. I don’t know what to do anymore because I rarely ever get a lesion at all to have a test.

Wait, what office did you call? The one that called you and said you were positive? And that was positive by antibody test? I’m so confused. I would be happy to try to help you more but this subscription has run it’s course. You can renew if you would like me to help you.
