So are you saying you had protected vaginal intercourse but did not have oral sex or are you saying that you had protected intercourse but unprotected oral sex?
Did anyone think the sore on your thigh could by syphilis? Did you have a syphilis test? Does it have a raised edge?
I need the answer to these questions before I can give you my best response.Terri

I had protected intercourse but unprotected oral doc just took a quick glance at the sore and said it doesn’t look like herpes or anything std related but ive never had a sore on my body period until this encounter i would send you a picture but not sure how to do that the edges do look raised its a flat red sore and crusty looking around the edges and no i havent been tested for syphilis, hiv, or herpes this Saturday will be 4 weeks since encounter and seems like my symptoms are just getting worse but there is times when i feel ok but that only last a couple hours and im in pain again does this sound anything like herpes?would a first outbreak last this long?

I would like you to get tested for syphilis. There is a syphilis epidemic going on in the US right now, more in some areas than others, and it probably isn’t syphilis, but I don’t want to take any chances with this. Are you in pain in the urethra, is that where you pain is? Is it pain when you urinate or just pain in the urethra when you are doing nothing? Honestly, pain for 4 weeks and a lesion that lasts that long does not sound like herpes to me but obviously I can’t know for sure. If you do test for herpes, get an IgG type specific antibody test. Let me know.

Im a 27yr old male that lives in ohio and i will get the syphilis test all of my pain is at the urethral opening/peehole no pain while urinating just pain when im doing nothing ive been to several doctor’s but they dont know whats going on they did a herpes culture swab in my pee hole idk how accurate that is though can herpes cause penile discharge because that is everday all day but very little at a time theres alot of burning/stinging i can barely even sleep when i wake up in the morning the discharge seems like it dries up in my pee hole until i urinate should i get the blood test now and wait 16 weeks to do it again if its negative? So you dont think these symptoms sound like herpes could it be a fungal infection?

There is a condition called herpetic urethritis, yes. But I would be surprised if that would cause the ongoing discharge that you describe. Usually with herpes urethritis people have some pain with urination but it resolves over a week or two and is often accompanied by sores on the outside of the genital area as well. You’ve certainly taken the appropriate antibiotics for traditional NGU – I am assuming you took doxy for a week, twice a day? Has someone evaluated you for prostate issues? You can certainly take an antibody test now and repeat it in 12 weeks to see if you have new herpes.
You say all this happened three weeks ago? And you’ve already taken all those antibiotics?
