One month ago I had unprotected sex with my second partner (vaginal and oral). He had been checked 2 weeks prior and has no symptoms. Almost a week after I knew something was wrong, I had a really bad rash. So I got checked almost 2 weeks after and was negative for chlamidia and gonnerea. The nurse looked around and didn’t see anything concerning and gave me yeast infection medicine. My condition lessened but I had a bump on my inner vaginal lips I left it alone. My rash got worse after completing a 7 day Monistat cream. I finally popped the pimple like bump and a thick white puss came out just like a normal zit.It wasn’t painful when I popped it. It didn’t leave an ulcer or crust over in fact it was completely gone in a matter of hours. However I still have the rash my vagina is red and sore in some places. I have a very thin white milky discharge. I have checked and can’t find anymore bumps.Just a very red sore irritated vagina. It’s uncomfortable but completely bearable I still do regular everyday activities. My anus has been a little itchy and a little red as well not as bad as my vagina. I haven’t been scratching at all. To my knowledge I have not ran a fever (I’ve checked a few times) I do have sensitive skin and can’t wear certain perfumes. If I do have genital herpes wouldn’t I have symptoms in my mouth as well?

I just found a line of bumps at the top of my vagina by my clitoris. They don’t hurt and I can’t tell if they have a head or not. They are much smaller than the pimple like thing I popped. I have had this rash for 3 weeks it started a week after I had unprotected sex. I have no fever as of right now. If this is herpes how long until those bumps will form into blisters? I have read literally everything online but there is no specific amount of time between stages. I also noticed that you have written back to posts after mine, I’m sorry I just would really like to know your opinion. Also I leave to a third world country for a week, I have already invested a small fortune in going and really don’t want to cancel. I just don’t want to break out in painful blisters over there because there is no medical care. Also I can’t get into an appointment due to the fact that it is so close to Christmas and We leave right after Christmas.

Sorry I’m posting so much I just want to make sure that you have every detail before you respond. So last night I finally just decided to go to the emergency room. It was that terrible to go but there was just no possible way for me to get into an appointment and seek treatment before I left. They tested me for trichomoniasis and I tested negative. So I am now negative for trichomoniasis, chlamidia, and gonnerea. I went into the emergency room and told them that I thought I might have herpes I even told the doctor and he started to tell me all about it. Then he opened me up and checked the tiny tiny bumps and told me that he really didn’t think that it was herpes. He said that herpes has a specific look and that I didn’t have any open ventricles. He thought that maybe the bumps were just from irritation because I have had this rash for 3 weeks. Then I had him check real good because I wanted to be sure and he didn’t see anything. So he then opened me up and looked at my cervix I think, whatever I have it isn’t good but at least now I have some sort of hope that it isn’t herpes. It was really bloody and I know he said something about it being swollen. He got this thing called a 4 by 4 and I think he took some tissue off. There was a lot of blood and my period should have started but he didn’t think the blood was period blood but think that the blood was probably a mixture. He treated me for chlamidia and gonnerea (even though I said I was negative) trick and I’m not sure if he treated me for anything else there. I got a shot in my butt and I took 6 pills. He wanted to be sure that he covered all the grounds. But he said that he thought it was an case of bacterial vaginitis. He gave me papers of bacterial vaginitis, cervicitis and sexually transmitted diseases. My questions are if I am infected with the herpesvirus wouldn’t this be a good time for my first outbreak? The guy I slept with I know has been around but he hasn’t had any symptoms and gets checked regularly.

Sorry, I was taking a few days off for Christmas.
It sounds like there is so much going on here and I’m a little confused. So you had a rash and that rash took you in the first time for an exam. But the person who saw you didn’t see a rash at all?
So you were clearly treated for gonorrhea and chlamydia and maybe also trich, but they thought it was BV but the treatment for BV is either intravaginal medicine or an antibiotic for a week by mouth. When you were examined, did anyone say anything about herpes? Did you have any swab testing done from your skin? Or did you have any antibody testing done?
In terms of your symptoms – you have continued to have bumps but they have never made a blister? Tell me more about the rash now.

I’m much better my rash that lasted over a month finally went away, they treated it as an vaginal infection and I took the antibiotics and got on probiotics. I haven’t had a problem since that one white bump I mentioned about never formed a sore I personally think it was a small pimple or enlarged gland that I overreacted to. I was seen by many gynecologist’s during this time and none of them have ever mentioned herpes (it’s in my mind and I can’t stop thinking about it). However it’s been 4 months and 3 weeks since the unprotected sex with an unknown partner that I did a full std check for. I did my std test with a gynecologist who physically examined me then I got my blood test done. They weren’t going to check my blood test for herpes but I insisted that they do so. I got my results back today and I came back negative for everything including hsv1 and hsv2. However the nurse told me that I have been exposed to both oral and genital herpes. So I asked if I needed to tell my partners if I had herpes and she said no. I asked if I had herpes and she told me no and left me confused as ever. She said something about hemoglobin and I have a high count. I asked her a million questions and I don’t think she knew how to answer them. If it was serious wouldn’t they have put me on prescription medicine and have called my partners? So even though I have never had a breakout and I came back negative for hsv 1 and hsv 2 how can I be exposed to the virus? I have had a cold sore when I was younger. Am I contagious? Do I need to get on medication and tell my partner that I was exposed to it but don’t have it? Do I need to be careful with laundry? I just don’t know. Thank you for all of your help.

I can see why this is very confusing – what the heck???
You need a copy of your antibody test results. If you are positive by IgG for HSV 1 and 2, assuming you are over the low positive result cut-off of 3.5, you are most likely both infected and infectious to others, but there is so much confusion here over what was said, I don’t know what to make of this. Can you provide clarity?Terri

Okay luckily the place called me back fast. So on my igm test I had a .97 and the way she explained it to me was that I guess the hsv 1 and hsv 2 were mixed together when testing. But for the igg 1 and the igg 2 I was negative. The lab didn’t send the numbers for those ones just that I was negative. What do you think?

So when was your very most recent partner?

I’ve been with him since January and he was my boyfriend in highschool. He has only been with one other girl with a condom.I trust him and don’t believe he has anything or has been cheating on me. I slept with him in October after he had sex with that other girl. I’m more concerned with the guy I slept with in November. I’ve only have had two partners

If your only other partner was in November, I think you can rely on the negative IgG test done recently.
