Hello,
Last night I had a brief sexual encounter with a sex worker. She has no visible cold sores to my knowledge. I had a hangnail/a little of my first layer of skin off due to a hangnail or something.
Basically all that happens was a condom hand job and a condom blow job but between the condom blow job in between I briefly masturbated with my hand with the wound with a bit her saliva was on the condom. Probably for a few seconds to thirty seconds. I feel pretty safe about the encounter from a genitalia perspective but what is the chance I got by masturbating with then latex condom on right after she performed oral sex for about thirty seconds. Im worred about getting herpes on that finger from touching her saliva on condom.

To clarify I had a hangnail, a potential wound on my index finger. She gave me a condom blowjob. I masturbated brfiefly touching the latex and her saliva potentially. Is this a high risk to get whitlow?

I think this risk here is something like on in a million. If I were you, I wouldn’t give it a second thought

Thank you Terri,
Using my last question – are the risks of getting ghsv1 or ghsv2 high? I just got tested recently after 14 weeks of no new partners and was wondering if you recommend testing again

To add additional context – I found a weird discoloration on my foreskin this. It looks like small clustered flat white spots not round some are actually linear but it was in a spot that was completely covered. I had a PA at a dermatology office check it out and he said it was nothing to worry about just some discoloration and I let him know I was sexually actively. I read some scary posts here that sometimes ghsv1 is just a flat white spot on some people. I recently tested negative after 4 months of my previous encounter for hsv1 and hsv2 so ultimately I’m worried what are chances I have ghsv1 or ghsv2 from a protected oral sex encounter from a sex worker that lasted about 5 minutes or so?
I do have a main partner and she knows about this encounter (I admitted through guilt) should I abstain from any sexual contact or would you recommend me getting tested?

Your symptom of the white spot sounds absolutely nothing like herpes – this is not how herpes presents, regardless of what you have read.
The chances of you getting herpes from your encounter with the sex worker is very very low indeed.Terri
