Thank you for the service and the necessary insight that you provide. I Had complete std testing done on oct 2 with all negative results… Had not had sex in the 6 months prior to Oct 2 test. No sex between Oct 2 and Oct 27
Oct 27 I had protected sex with a provider. Since encounter have not had any symptoms of hsv 1 or 2.
Jan 1 went to local testing lab (just for peace of mind)for std testing and they sent to lab-corp for testing: results IGG hsv1 9.52….hsv2 1.89
Jan 4 (3days later they repeated the test and sent this time to Quest: results IGG hsv1 .80(negative) ….. hsv2 1.41 The local lab was as confused as I am and suggested a 3rd complimentary IGG test and I refused. The lab said I could do another test(expensive) pcr dna which I agreed to do yesterday (jan 7) the test result is not back yet
I am 60 yr and have never had any std issues in the past. I live in florida and as you previously mentioned you might have a way to get me the wb test
My questions are
1. What do these readings suggest to you?
2 I was told that this expensive pcr dna blood test should be accurate and the lab manager called quest to confirm test pcr test. what is your opinion?
3. No matter what the results of the pcr test is, do you think I should get the wb test? I have a very old fashioned doctor who does not believe in std testing without symptoms. I doubt he would order the wb test.. Please help with what I should do next.
4 If you think I should do the wb test can you help… considering Iam in the tampa fl area -

You should definitely NOT NOT NOT have a PCR DNA from blood. That is a totally useless test as herpes virus is not in the blood. They are ripping you off. Cancel it if you can.
These readings suggest that you may or may not have herpes. Do you have a history of cold sores?
Yes, you need a western blot and we can get that for you as part of a study. You will need to wait about two weeks until we have our ducks in a row with the shipping issues. You surely do need one.

I have never had any history of cold sores.
Based on the numbers I gave you what do you think my percentage of false positive is?
How should I contact regarding the wb in two weeks/

I would say there is better than a 50/50 chance that this is a false positive but since you have two different index values, I cannot give you an exact percentage.
You should write to info@westoverheights and let me know you are interested in the research study of HSV 2 tests from different states.

Yes, two weeks max. You could just send the email now and I will have it to refer back to when we do start the study.
