If someone has genital herpes and is using the bathroom, touches their penis when urinating then touches the handle to flush the toilet. Then someone else uses the bathroom, touches the same handle to flush the toilet then uses that hand to put a tampon in. Is there a risk of transmission here? There was also 48 hrs in between these people using the bathroom and cleaner was used to wipe down the handle, just a basic cleaner not sure if it was a disinfectant.
This is absolutely zero risk. The virus dies very very quickly on inanimate objects.
