i have had herpes since 2009 i am 44 year old married male. i just did a visual examination of genitals and the doctor diagnosed with herpes i started taking Valtrex on and off,after a few months of infection i also infected my eyes most likely auto inculcation .the problem with my eyes continued persistently ever sinc only take valtrex and lysine.its been 13 years now.i never got any blood test here in canada only visual exam by family doctor.i told my wife and also my family doctor about my herpes.
now my main concern is my regarding my 8 year old son.he was absolutely healthy. Now since last 2 years he complaing about itchiness in penis.i showed it to the family doctor he just gave betaderm and said its fibmosis. i asked the doctor weather he might have got herpes at birth. he said straight away no. i thought ok it might me fibmosis as he said. but now 1 month back his eyes got red and itchiness he started blinkimg too much and sad he has itchiness he was rubbing his eyes too much.i really got panicked as i have suffered a lot with my eyes most likely herpes in the eyes.i went to the other family physyciabn told him about my herpes background he siad child do not have herpes. he just gave anitibiotic drops for my son eyes no releif to him then i took him to hospital emegenct the doctor there put dye in my sons eye he diagnosed with dry eyes and refred some hydra sense drops again tried for 1 week not much help. the red eye got normal after 2 weeks but now almost after 3 weeks he still say papa itchy eyes same way he used to tell about his penis for last 2 years.
i am really worried dont know whats happening with my son its wa too many things happenin with him giving me anxiety. terri please advice if this could be herpes or something else really worried, and having sleeplless nights beacuse of this. also want to mention my wife gave vaginal birth ad i dont think she she took any antiviral ever till date. please advce really worried. -

We spoke on the telehealth visit about this.
I doubt that your son has HSV in his eye and I also doubt that you also have HSV in your eye.
And I think you need more than a visual diagnosis of your own case. But you know all of this from our conversation.Terri

Hi Teri went to the ophthalmologist today for my son he doagonsed with conjunctivitis and gave him another drops he said there is discharge in the eyes and irritation as well. It’s been almost 1 and half months now with this issue I don’t know if this drops the opthamologist gave helps the infection. I searched on google conjunctivitis can also be caused by herpes virus . Just waiting to ge tot cleared really don’t know.as far as my diadgnosos for hsv the doctor prescribed my antiviral valtrex for same no blood test but visual diagnosis. Thanks for

Herpes is quite obvious in the eye when evaluated by an eye doctor. They would have told you right away if they thought he had herpes of the eye.
