First off, your book is amazing! Second, thank you for this forum. You are definitely a God send. Now to the point. I had sex twice last year, in March and Christmas Eve. Same guy, no condom Christmas Eve. By Jan. I experienced itching right below my vaginal area. By Jan 9th, that area never turned into a blister per say but it did look raw. Jan. 11th I went to my OBGYN and she said it was herpes. She took a swab of if and drew blood. The swab came back negative. The IgG was positive for HSV1 23.60 index and HSV2 18.10 index. (it said high, so I guess that’s off the chart) I’ve never had any outbreaks or symptoms before. I was and still am devastated. I have ordered the Western Blot test and received it yesterday. I found a ANYLABTESTNOW which will draw my blood and send to Univ of Washington. My question, all last year I have had a high amount of protein in my blood and urine. I was sent to a Cancer Center and was seen by an Oncologist and they don’t seem to be alarmed by it due to the level not being as high by the time he saw me. Jan. 28th I switched to an Internal Medicine Dr. and she ran a battery of test on me and the protein levels are high again. Could this be linked to the herpes test being positive? Am I grasping at straws?
Also, can you help me get an order for the Blot test?
Thank you for your time.
I definitely can help you get the blot. You would need to set up a video conference with me which you can do at the homepage of this website. And no, I don’t believe that herpes has anything to do with protein in your urine or blood. Protein in the urine normally has something to do with the kidney so I would think they would be working up your kidney function. I’m not looking at your lab test results so I shouldn’t even be commenting upon this but I can tell you is not the cause.
