Hello!
I am an African American heterosexual male who would love your help.
I have been testing positive and negative for HSV-1 for about a year and half now. I believe I had an outbreak early 2021. I developed 2 red colored bumps that were crusty and scabbed over that went away after taking Valtrex pills prescribed by my doctor. I sometimes get the red color on the area I broke out at. The area scabs over and I use hydrocortisone cream to heal it. This outbreak resulted in discoloration on the area. Some of the area is light and some of the area is dark.On August 20, 2022, I had protected sex with a woman that has HSV-2. The next day I had symptoms such as pins and needles all over my body, tingling sensation on my genitals, and anus, genital discomfort, intense genital pain, numbness on the head my penis, a burning sensation at the top of my urethra, itchiness on my genitals, buttocks, thighs and anus, and muscle aches.
Also, I have been breaking out on my penis and buttocks. They aren’t herpes like clusters of bumps in one section. They are pimple like breakouts usual in the same area. The breakouts have happened less than often since I’ve been exposed to the virus. I almost never broke out on my penis or buttocks until my exposure.
I have tested negative for HSV-2 three times on an igg test. I took one about 5 days after exposure, then 2 weeks after, and finally 13 weeks after. I still experience some of the symptoms listed above. I feel often itchiness on my genitals, buttocks, thighs and anus. Also, genital discomfort occurs often. I also less than often go through intense genital pain and muscle aches. I don’t experience pins and needles all over my body or burning at the top of my urethra anymore, but some shocks of itchiness occur on majority of my body often.
I really want to get to the bottom of this. I am concerned the most about the HSV-2!
Have you heard of an HSV situation like this?
Do you think I should take a Western Blot Test? -

Anything that happens a day after a sexual encounter, in terms of symptoms, is not related to HSV . It simply doesn’t present that quickly
The IgG test for HSV 2 misses 8% of infections compared to the gold standard western blot. If you really want to get the bottom of this, you’ll do the herpes western blot, most definitelyTerri
