Hi Terri,
My Culture 13 months ago was positive for Type 1 Herpes, first event, as mentioned in previous contacts with you. 13 Months later I still have no antibodies on my igg blood test and I have not been on Valtrex for 11 1/2 months. I have not had any more outbreaks either. My GYN said not to worry….. no more blood tests. Take only for an outbreak, as you are with the same partner.
This week I saw my Dermatologist, mentioned all of this to her (She knew I had herpes ). She treats people with Herpes Type 1. She said that as long as I DON’T have the antibodies I should not have any more outbreaks.
What are your ideas and opinions on this?
Thank you.
I have no idea what the dermatologist is talking about. That’s just wrong.
The traditional antibody tests miss 1 out of 4 infections, that is likely what your testing is negative now. may I ask why you continue to get blood tests when you already have a positive swab test?
Terri
