Hello Terri I am really stressing out right now I took a LgG blood test and my herpes 1 test came back as positive with a index of 1.87. I don’t recall having any symptoms and the last possible exposure was maybe 10 months ago. I also just recently had a major surgery done on my stomach and wonder if this could be a reason to have caused a false positive test result?
This could be a false positive, yes. Stomach surgery would have no impact on HSV antibody testing, no.

I just got my hsv-2 test back and it also came back positive with 2.15 but the supplemental test came back negative I’m not really sure how to take this kind of information I’m really stressing out about this right now I haven’t shown any symptoms but I don’t know what to do.
Both of these could be false positive results, but it is good that the HSV 2 supplemental was negative. Most people with a negative supplemental who do the western blot are negative on the blot but not everyone. If you want to know your true status for both you should consider the herpes western blot
