I got an itchy sensation on my Glans. I applied some lotion and the next day morning I saw some blisters. I kept applying coconut oil for 2-3 days and the blisters shaded away. However, it started re-appearing.
The doctor advised me to take some tests, and I tested positive for HSV 1 IgG – 1.3.
I am so anxious and stressed at this moment.
I had oral sex 5-6 months ago hand job and a blow, it was with a girl I knew. Last 6 months there were no other activities, and I didn’t have any symptoms.
I have been prescribed with ZELITREX 500 mg for 10 days. And to take a test in 3 weeks’ time and see the status. My questions,
1 – Can my situation be a false positive? and symptoms be another allergic?
2 – Any other tests to take to be sure?
3 – How can make sure the blisters don’t outbreak. Any regular medication?
4 – What Suppressive therapy I can do to not outbreak and keep it in control?
5 – Can I have unprotected sex when no outbreak? I am getting married next months with a different person and looking forward to have kids.
6 – How to handle the mental stress? -

Yes, it could be a false positive and if a true positive, they doesn’t say what you have on your penis is herpes. This was mishandled – a swab test should have been done of your penis head.2 – Any other tests to take to be sure?
A swab test, if the symptoms are still present3 – How can make sure the blisters don’t outbreak. Any regular medication?
We don’t know that you have herpes so I’m not going to recommend any medication4 – What Suppressive therapy I can do to not outbreak and keep it in control?
See the answer to #35 – Can I have unprotected sex when no outbreak? I am getting married next months with a different person and looking forward to have kids.
Then it is even more important that an accurate diagnosis be obtained.6 – How to handle the mental stress?
By figuring out if this is actually genital herpes. Did the blisters pop open and make an ulceration and then scab over? Was there fluid in the blisters?Terri

Symptoms started fading away initially when I was using coconut oil. Initially I felt a slight burn and slight itchiness.
After my test, (HSV 1 IgG – 1.3) my doctor advised to take Zelitrex (Antiviral) 500 mg for 10 days, and to take another Herpes serology in 3 weeks time.
After 2 -3 days of Medication I noticed the blisters were increasing. I spoke to the doctor, he gave me Co-Amoxicilline for 6 day, and Cream – Acyclovir to apply.
After using the cream and Anti biotics the blisters are reducing. A slight itchy feeling only once in a while. I am still taking the Zelitrex (Antiviral).
THE BLISTERS DID NOT POP OPEN, MAKE ULCERATION AND SCAB OVER. IT WAS MOSTLY LIKE RED PIMPLES ALL OVER THE GLANS.
I was tested for Chlamydia also during the first test both IgM and IgG were negative (on 4th October 2022). along with the below;
TPHA was Negative.
VDRL was Non Reactive.
HBsAg was negative
HCV was negativeon 14th Oct I tested S.M (HIV) it was negative.
1 – Kindly advise what should be done at present? If the Blisters are fading away, can I still take a SWAB Test??
2 – The country I am presently staying might not have SWAB test facility available, I have to check, What can be done if no SWAB Test available?
3 – If it is confirmed as HSV 1, Can I have unprotected sex when no outbreak? I am getting married next months with a different person and looking forward to have kids.
4 – If Its confirmed HSV 1 how can I stay without outbreaks appearing, and are there chances of Cold sores arising?

You can take a swab test at any time, but what you are describing as blisters, I would probably not describe as blisters, the herpes kind anyway. Herpes blisters are fluid filled, they break within a day or two at the most, they are rarely on the head of the penis along.2 – The country I am presently staying might not have SWAB test facility available, I have to check, What can be done if no SWAB Test available?
I don’t think that is essential for your diagnosis, as these do not sound like herpes blisters to me.3 – If it is confirmed as HSV 1, Can I have unprotected sex when no outbreak? I am getting married next months with a different person and looking forward to have kids.
If you do have genital HSV 1 infection, it can be transmitted through intercourse, though that is quite unlikely, but possible.4 – If Its confirmed HSV 1 how can I stay without outbreaks appearing, and are there chances of Cold sores arising?
If you have genital HSV 1 but no cold sores, then it is unlikely that you will subsequently get cold sores in the future. But what you have doesn’t sound like HSV 1 to me, honestly. The likelihood that you would receive oral sex and have no symptoms of HSV 1 until 5-6 months later is incredibly tiny. Look up candida balanitis and see if the pictures look like what you are describing to me.
