Hi,let me tell you a little of my experience. I had a protected sexual encounter a month later i get tested and tested positive for hsv 1 with a index score of 33. I was wondering if i could’ve gotten that high index value a month after that protected encounter ?
2 months after the encounter i started feeling weird down there. I’ve been in pain for the last 6 months slight itching at times but the pain doesn’t go away . I’ve been having nerve pain and my butt also been hurting. This is really stressing me out . Please help me !!

So HSV 1 is most often oral in the form of cold sores. Have you ever in your life had a cold sore on your lip or in your nose? HSV1 genital infection would almost never cause pain in the genital area for 6 months. And I doubt that your index value would be 33 in one month from infection though I imagine that is possible.

No cold sores at all. I tested again 4 months after the protected encounter and the index value was 32. No oral sex during that encounter . It just been feeling very off down there after that encounter. But let me clarify that it was a protected encounter. Can my symptoms be cause of herpes?, but the pain didn’t start till after 2 months from the encounter. I’m going crazy i don’t know what to do .

The pain you are experiencing is not due to HSV 1, not for six months straight. And HSV 1 genital infection rarely recurs. It is far more likely that your HSV 1 infection is oral than genital. I think you are jumping to an incorrect assumption here. If you are still uncomfortable, I suggest that you revisit your health care provider to see what might be going on here.

Is the tingling, pain and sharp itch on my genitals, buttock pain & nerves pain symptoms of herpes or does it have anything to do with my last encounter? All those symptoms started 2 months after the protected encounter. I’ve been to my gyn doctor. i feel like i live there but they have done all test and everything comes out negative .

I can only imagine that all of this must be really unpleasant for you and I’m so sorry. I certainly don’t think that it has anything to do with your last encounter 1) because your symptoms showed up quite long after that and 2) the encounter was protected. Condoms reduce transmission of HSV by 96% from men to women.
