HSV Type 1 and no antibodies

Hi Terri,

I texted you last night because I thought I had one more question, but I didn’t.So here I am today!

I was cultured 13 months ago with HSV Type 1. I was on the Valtrex for about 3 months and then the Doctor and I decided to stop it and see how it played out. I was with the same lover and he has HSV Type 1 also.

Now 13 months later, I have not had another outbreak, I’m with the same lover and I test negative for antibodies. My recent test results from December 2015 are HSV Igg Type 1 0.50. My GYN said not to worry and just take when I have an outbreak, since I am with the same lover.

Yesterday I was at my Dermatologist, she knows I have herpes, and I told her re. my blood results. She treats people with HSV Type 1 and told me that as long as I don’t get antibodies I won’t have an outbreak.

What are your thoughts on this?
