I recently got a comprehensive STD panel done with anylabtest and got positive results for HSV1 & 2. HSV1 was >5 and HSV2 was 2.67. Could these be false positives? Should I get retested in a month? I recently started a new sexual relationship in July and was celebate for 8 months before. Could this be from my new partner since I’ve never had any sores or outbreak before this? I’m shocked by the results and don’t know what to do or think
This could most definitely be a false positive – probably a 50-50 chance. The CDC says you need a good confirmatory test and western blot is the best. Has your currently partner had an antibody test for herpes as well?
