Hi there
I have HSV1 and on my anus and have for many reasons. It actually outbreaks more frequently than I would like (3-4x a year ).
In the past I have been tested for HSV2 and it has been negative. I think the last test I did for this before the most recent was fall of 2014.
3 weeks ago I presented with four very small water blisters that broke same day and healed quickly. Very quickly like 3 days – and the scab is nearly invisible now. It didn’t hurt at all even when pressing on it. These were on the tip of my penis.
1. Doc did blood test and didn’t swab:(
2. Was positive HSV2 at 4.4A few questions: note I am gay, have a BF and am open so had a few oral insertive partners only.
1. I am very confused how I got this. I have only engaged in 2 partners where I was insertive oral ( I am a gay man ). And I understood it is very hard to get Hsv2 this way.
2. I do have unprotected sex as both bottom and top ( top infrequently and the last time was in March).
3. He says he isn’t sure but he thinks he has HSV1 only.
4. In February he did have what he said was shingles – fever, swollen glands, and a bad shingles like outbreak on side stomach area. Had never had shingles before.
Ok….
A) can’t tell how I got this. Miss it possible to have gotten this as the bottom but it shows up on top of penis? Possible it was from oral from other partners ?
B). Having HSV1 prob lessened the outbreak. It was painless and no fever or issues and resolved. Can it be possible that subsequent outbreaks will
Be less and in fact even less because I have HSV1 ?C). Can suppression therapy and not having sex when outbreaks be sufficient to stay protected with partners ( provided I tell them )
D). What is the ultra dosage you recommend at the first sign of an outbreak to help stop symptoms ?
Thanks !

First, you state that you have HSV 1 anally – how do you know that? Was a swab test done on these lesions at some point that were positive for HSV 1? If yes, I wonder if the typing was incorrect because you are having more frequent outbreaks than one normally would for having HSV 1 genitally.
Ok….

It is unlikely you got HSV 2 from receiving oral sex, no. but you describe being the top partner without a condom, right? That would be the way you would get this on the penis, most likely.B). Having HSV1 prob lessened the outbreak. It was painless and no fever or issues and resolved. Can it be possible that subsequent outbreaks will
Be less and in fact even less because I have HSV1 ?Yes, that is likely but again, how exactly do you know that you have HSV 1 anally?
C). Can suppression therapy and not having sex when outbreaks be sufficient to stay protected with partners ( provided I tell them )
Condoms should also be used.
D). What is the ultra dosage you recommend at the first sign of an outbreak to help stop symptoms ?
I like the 2 grams, then 2 grams 12 hours later routine best.

My HSV 1 was swabbed like 15 years ago. And blood tests have shown positive when I do STD testing. The last HSV1 score was 16. Felt high. It has always bothered me that my outbreaks were often yet not severe.
If this was a primary HSV2 infection which is what I am
Assuming based on the data, then I don’t think being the top was the answer because the last time that happened was in March. And my primary infection breakout was actually 2 weeks ago. The only recent anal activity Would be me as a bottom.Aligned to this:
1. When does shedding actually occur ?
2. If our when I get another outbreak would it ever be anywhere else (HSV2).My hope is that because initial infection was so small and because I have HSV1 that I either don’t have an outbreak of its immaterial. I am aware of shedding and that I would still
Be able to transmit. To be honest I’m stunned. And bummed. I really am careful. and just don’t know how HSV2 happened unless from my partner but again only anal bottom makes sense there. And again I have not had HSV2 before. Perhaps frottage…
Just didn’t want to be the guy with hsv1 and hsv2. 🙁

Your first recognized outbreak might have been two weeks ago, but that may not have been your first infection, do you see the difference?
Shedding can occur at any time – I’m not sure what you mean by when?
Outbreaks of HSV 2 can be anywhere in the boxer shorts area of your body.Terri

Sorry. I thought it returns to where it was first outbreak. And doesn’t localize other places. In this case reoccurrence on the tip of my penis
Are you saying it can reoccurr in other places below boxer shorts ?
Btw. Do heroes scars heal?

Sorry one last thing. I explained I was tested in fall 2014 and was negative for hsv2 and I gave you all
My partners since and sex activity so I would think this has to be first outbreak.I watch this stuff carefully and dos not have a previous outbreak in this window period.
My original question is if it is possible to get an HSV2 infection on penis if I was a bottom sexually.

Yes, it is possible to get herpes on the penis if you were bottom sexually and the reason is that recurrences can show up anywhere in the boxer shorts area. You could have been infected anally and the recurrence could be on your penis. Does that make sense?
