I have hsv1of the genitals with no signs or symptoms of having it orally. Does that mean that I only have it vaginally and I can only pass it on when someone comes into contact with it, either through shedding or direct contact with a sore, at the site of origin? Is it safe for others who are not infected to be kissing me.
So did you have a positive swab test from a lesion in the genital area and it was HSV 1? I can’t tell you with 100% certainty that you only acquired this genitally but if you’ve never had a cold sore, particularly around the time you acquired the genital infection, then I would say oral infection is really unlikely to have happened. And yes, it would be transmitted by contact with the infected area, not other parts of your body.
