Hi Terri,
I am a female. Is it true that if I have genital hsv1 and I have never had a second outbreak, I have a better chance of passing the virus through oral sex than through skin to skin regular sex? I have been told it is difficult to pass the hsv1 virus to men through regular sex. Just looking for clarification. -
Yes, it is true that it is easier for a person with HSV 1 orally to transmit to another person than it is to transmit genital HSV 1 to another person. Oral HSV 1 shed more frequently than genital HSV 1.
