I was skyping with my bf and I was pleasuring myself and then I put my finger in my mouth and sucked on them rigorously for 3 or 4 minutes and I began pleasuring myself again with the same fingers. Afterward I noticed I had a cold sore on my inner lip. I felt under the weather today so I know it’s a just starting cold sore. I have been positive for HSV1 for over 2 years because I was tested back in July of 2013. Could I have transferred it to my vagina? What is the likelihood?
I think the likelihood that you transferred virus from your mouth to your genitals is very very close to zero. This is not a concern that I would have at all if you were my patient. The antibody and other immune responses that you have made will most certainly protect you against infection at a new location. I have only seen this once in 33 years of practice and heard about one other case.

Thanks for your response. I’m not even sure it was a cold sore. I felt something soft on my inner bottom lip with my tongue. I looked at it and it was a red rounds spot. The spot was a little bit darker than my lip. The next morning it was completely gone.
Do this sound like a coldsore? Can a coldsore only last one day?
Thanks,
Gloria
Not really, no, but even if it was, your’e good anyway

Ok my last question. I got the cold sore on Tue and it was completely gone on wed. Is it safe to give my bf oral sex on Fri? Or should I wait.
If the cold sore (or whatever it was) is gone, then yes, you can give your boyfriend oral sex. But remember that you can give off virus from your mouth even when you don’t have a cold sore on your lip. There is no 100% safe time. Does he also get cold sores? If yes then it doesn’t matter what’s going on with you – you both have the virus.
