Was in Asia, and had sex 3/2 & 3/3, with condom used during all intercourse.
Prior to this was virgin with 0 past sexual activity.
3/8 back in US(~6.5 days post first encounter) had blood drawn for complete STD panel.
All negative except HSV2.
HSV2 via Quest 6647 igG was 2.37.
To date, no symptoms, sores, blisters, etc. Testing was just to be cautious after stupidity.
What would you recommend for testing going forward and on what timeline. Possibility of false positive?I realize 6.5 days post first encounter is probably not enough time for antibody to develop…
I would strongly guess that this is a false positive given your lack of sexual experience and your use of condoms. While it is possible to get herpes while using a condom, it is unlikely
Have you had any sores in the genital area? If not, more reason to think this is a false positive.
I would recommend that you follow the CDC STD treatment guidelines and get a herpes western blot. You can work through your own provider to get this or I can help you.

Never had any sores in genital area. How long do I have to wait for the WB? Statistically speaking is it 50% chance false positive?
If I had your test results in someone with several sex partner in their history, I would say there is a 50-50 chance, just based on the IgG result. But we don’t base estimates solely based on numbers – we also take into consideration a person’s sexual history and yours does NOT fit with genital herpes. So the risk of it being a false positive is WAYYY higher than 50%.
If you want to do the blot, wait 12 weeks from the last contact.
