Hi I’m concerned I might have HSV2 can you please advise:
Timeline:
jan 21 -unprotected sex with female 1
Feb 3 – unprotected sex with female 2
Female 2 took plan b on feb 4 along with her dosage of birth control. Starting feeling ill with flu like symptoms and a few days later got swabed positive for herpes and negative HSV2 blood test. Advised that the last time she had sex before feb 3 was 9 weeks prior.
I immediately got a IgG hsv2 test which came back negative. Had a hsv2 test 6,8,10 weeks out all came back negative. I have no lesions but around a week after sex on feb 3 I felt an increased urge to urinate and felt like there was something stuck at the tip of my penis. twice I had a shooting pain like a shock in my penis. I am going to get tested again at 12 weeks but is there anyway female 2 got this from a previous encounter? I feel like all signs point to me.
Also female 2’s encounter with the other guy was with a condom. My hsv1 results are also negative. At how many weeks is the IgG test conclusive? 70% at week 10? Have you seen people go positive from week 10 to 12? Thanks
Update I just checked my anus as its been itchy and it seems like there is a red lesion there. Could this be related to the hsv2?
There is a red abrasion looks like a straight line near my perineum. Can’t tell if there are pimples there or not. My anus is itchy but not that procurers abrasion and it doesn’t hurt. Would an outbreak of blisters cause a lot of pain? Please help.
Blisters would be tender most often, yes but not always.
Very curious situation. The IgG test misses 8% of HSV 2 infections compared to the western blot so should could have been infected previously and the test missed it or it missed yours. You should get any questionable genital symptoms swab tested.
