I had Unprotected sex with a stripper on May 27th 2022..I got her tested after 6 weeks of encounter(july 11th) with 4 generation TEST at quest diagnostics for HIV and HSV 1&2 .She got negative for all of them
I got tested for HIV,HSV1&2 at 8 weeks(july 25th) and got negative for hiv and hsv1 but equivocal for hsv2 (0.92).I tested at 3 weeks also for hsv and got equivocal 1.01
I got few isolated red bumps on my thighs and my inner thighs are constantly itchy/burning sensation and having pain back of my thigh.I dont have any issues with my groin area.just only on thighs
I get tinglingling in my penis on and off,but after I drink water it stops1)what are the chances that my partner might have hsv2 at the time of encounter and not being detected in blood tests
2)can I take westernblot at 12 weeks or wait for 4 months to finish after the encounter for correct results
3)Does any of my symptoms relate to HSV2.Also if she had hsv2 what were my chances of getting it,she did not have any lesions during my encounter

If she was recently infected by someone else, it might now show up in the antibody test yet.2)can I take westernblot at 12 weeks or wait for 4 months to finish after the encounter for correct results
You can take the western blot at 12 weeks, yes3)Does any of my symptoms relate to HSV2.Also if she had hsv2 what were my chances of getting it,she did not have any lesions during my encounter
If she does have HSV 2, it would relatively new and she might be more infectious than later in infection, but we have no idea that that is the case. The symptoms that you describe on your thighs sound nothing like herpes to me.Terri

thanks Terri for the reply….
1)I was seeing in some posts that it is good to take wester blot after 16 weeks. Should I wait for another 4 weeks (it will be 16 weeks) for confirmatory result
2)if my partner was infectious during my encounter (which was almost 12 weeks ago) can she still show negative on IGG after 13 weeks with no symptoms?

No, 12 weeks is adequate.
it is very unlikely if she was infected 12 weeks ago that she is infected. The IgG test misses 8% of HSV 2 infection compared to the western blotTerri
