Hi Mrs. Warren:
What is the likelihood of having a HSV2 IGG level of 5.68 from unprotected oral sex only (giving and receiving) 12 days post exposure? Do you think that the HSV2 level is too high after 12 days and I was positive before the exposure?
I appreciate your help.
The risk of receiving oral sex is the acquisition of HSV one, not HSV two. If you got an index value of 5.68 from only receiving oral sex in your lifetime, that is very very likely a false positive. Or you acquired HSV two from some previous sexual encounter.

Let me provide some additional information, I am a male. Is it rare to contract HSV2 from receiving oral sex only ? Could I have contracted oral HSV2 by performing oral sex on the female I was with? Is that a possibility or a rarity as well?
Does it sound like the 5.68 HSV2 IGG level is unlikely from 12 days post exposure from oral sex only and most likely from a previous unprotected sexual encounter?
Thanks
I have never seen anyone acquire HSV 2 from receiving oral sex. It is possible to acquire HSV 2 from giving oral sex to a woman who has HSV 2, yes, but the risk is very low.
Your index value suggests that this may be a false positive – you need confirmation by a better test like western blot
