I recently did a full panel std test as I received oral (covered) however the condom came off and I received hand play while there was still saliva present. (Sorry just trying to be detailed as possible – this occurred mid June 2023)
I tested negative for everything BUT hsv-2
My result was a 1.46H… I don’t have symptoms and I got tested right about week 15.
I am scared as I had tested negative in 2020 and negative in 2023. This is the only semi unprotected sexual activity I’ve had since I tested negative.
I sent my results to my PCP since I decided to test through quest this time for the convenience
And my doctor immediately said I had contracted it due to testing negative back in April.
I am pending the inhibition test through quest I should receive it any any moment. I’m wondering either way it comes back if I should do the western blot.
I haven’t eaten or slept much since receiving this information.
Hoping I can get some advice from Terri – I’ve heard she is awesome through Reddit.
I think there is an excellent chance that this is a false positive. We’ve also seen false positives on the inhibition assay so I would be interested in those results. There is good agreement between people who get negative inhibition assays through Quest and subsequently get negative western blots. Let me know how the IA went.
Terri
