5 months of unprotected sex with a woman who had HSV2 she was unaware tell I tested positive on a IGM test. Then she tested positive on a IGG test.
Only problem is I tested negative on the IGG 8 months later all at labcorp. 3 tests done all negative. No pimples or lesions on my genitals. But I did have 1 on my shaft that was painless and popped like a pimple. It came back as well like a normal pimple would fill up again. Then had flu like symptoms for 5-7 days while it was healing.
For like the passed 3 or so months I’ve been having tingling feelings in my groin and anus area. It doesn’t hurt or anything like that I just feel annoyed by it. sometimes it itches sometimes it just a shooting tingle that’s last a second. It’s been happening almost everyday probably 5 days a week but I don’t see any lesions. Definitely none on my shaft like the firsts one. What are your thoughts?
She also has HSV1 that she’s had since a child and she did have 1 outbreak during our time together. But we knew not to touch each other tell 5 days after it healed completely.
Is tingles and itching most days hsv2? And if it is will it stop?
I’m trying to date another woman that I really like and I don’t know if I should tell her that I’m testing negative. I don’t want to put her at risk.
All the mods on redit say it’s not hsv2 because it’s almost daily but people in the forum do say that it happens to them.
Sometimes i also notice that i have a off smell in my genital region. Not like the one you would have when you sweat too much. It’s more of a potent smell I can’t explain it. That also happens 2-3 times a week. It could be that I’m noticing it more because I’m hyper focused on the area.
I see slot of people test negative at one lab then positive at another should I try going to quest instead of labcorp and see if that’s negative as well?

I seriously doubt that these symptoms represent HSV 2, but several months of unprotected sex with someone infected with HSV 2 does present some risk. Ignore the positive IgM and count on the negative IgG results with 92% certainty. HSV does not present with daily symptoms. Herpes also does not cause any odor.
Both labs have problems with false positive results on the IgG test. I am reluctant to advise that you test again, due to this concern. If you really can’t believe the negatives you’ve gotten, do the western blot for greatest certainty

I think I’m going to take the blot . Have you had many cases like mine where they were sexually active for 5 months with someone that was HSV2 positive and test negative on IGGs tests to come back positive on the blot?
Thank you again Terri.

Happens all the time!
And depending on her level of positivity (her index value on the HSV 2 test) she may or may not have HSV 2.Terri
