      Hello Terry,

I’m a male in my mid 30’s. On October 18th of this year I got really drunk and unfortunately made a mistake by having sex with a stripper in a strip club that lasted about 3 -4 min with a condom. No oral and she used alcohol wipes afterwards. Since then I’ve been feeling body aches and tingling in my scrotum but has been getting better. I have tested negative for everything 2 weeks out but I know for HSV2 its too soon for an accurate result. Doctor gave me antibiotics for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia just incase. Its been 30 days and no outbreak. I’m in a 10 year relationship and I feel horrible because this is not something Id ever thought I would do, I’ve considered myself to be a good person up until this point.

What are my chances of actually being infected during this brief episode?

Have you seen a lot of primary hsv2 outbreaks occur after 30 days?

If I don’t have an outbreak in the next coming weeks, should I continue to test through HSV 2 IgG or can I just stop this anxiety and move on?

PS Thank you for all that you do. You are highly appreciated.

I think the chances of you being infected at this brief encounter are very low indeed. Condoms do reduce transmission of HSV from a woman to a man by 65% so that’s not perfect but it is good.
I have never seen a primary occur outside of 3 weeks from an encounter! I think you don’t need to test further because the encounter is low risk and the risk of getting a false positive on an IgG test is pretty high.
