Hello wondering if you had an idea what the average shedding rates are for hsv2 after 1 and 2 years assuming no valtrex?
Thanks
Also what is the transmission rate from an infected male to an uninfected female having sex with no condom involved.
The answer depends upon whether you have symptoms or not. Symptomatic people shed an average of 20 out 100 days, asymptomatic people shed 10 out of 100 days. The transmission rate from male to female that we have is based on what we call survivors. They haven’t gotten infected when having sex with a partner up until the time they enroll in our studies. That rate is around 10% with some studies showing as high as 30%. That’s with no condoms and no antivirals.
