I’m pretty sure who I got hsv2 from. 9 weeks after exposure I had a igg blood test which came back positive for hsv2 at 9weeks 2 days with a level of 8.95. A lot of people are saying this infection is long term because of the level.
Have you seen positive igg levels at 9 weeks? If so what’s the highest level you have seen
Is it possible to be positive after 9 weeks
Is it possible to be positive after 9 weeks at this level
Do the levels mean anything?
I broke had my first outbreak around 2.5 weeks of sleeping with this man and the sores lasted about 2 weeks.
Please help. Do you think if came from him considering the level and being positive at 9 weeks.

I was told it take 12-16 weeks for a human to go from 0 antibodies to 1.0 so that 8.95 is not possible? Please help

Oh yes, I have certainly seen an index value that high at 9 weeks past infection. The index values vary based on the test brand so to say the highest would be comparing apples and oranges.
Is it possible to be positive after 9 weeks
Absolutely or you could have it had it for years before that
Is it possible to be positive after 9 weeks at this level
Again, yes
Do the levels mean anything?
No, not at this level

You could have gotten this from this man or someone years before if you were having sex before him.
I don’t know who told you this but they were in error. it CAN take up to 12 weeks to make antibody but most people make it way before that.

Thank you for your response. I slept with this guy on Sept 20th then on 13th October had sores ect, was confirmed positive by swab then 9weeks and 2 days later also confirmed by a blood test. Previous to this encounter o was sleeping with the same guy for 6 years and no symptoms. Do you believe it would have came from the second guy? It was around 20 days after sex. It could have been before that when I had an outbreak but I didn’t notice until I had the sores. Is this sores the first symptom? How long does a first outbreak last? I believe mine was 2 weeks.

Sores are the first symptom most often, yes
Outbreaks can last anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.
20 days if far out from an encounter to have a first outbreak – the average is 5.5 days – but not impossible. I guess we cannot know for certain when you were infected.Terri
