IgG high positive can it be fales

Hello Tari, I m 26 yr old male, couple of days ago i test my self for std 8 panel test and i got positive for HSV 1. The test was high 5 i’m bit confused about the test. I don’t have any symptoms as of now so what are the chance of false test.

So HSV 1 is the virus that causes the vast majority of cold sores, something that many people acquire as children. It can also cause genital herpes. The majority of people with a positive HSV 1 antibody test do not recall having symptoms of herpes, so you are not alone. Have you ever in your life had a cold sore on your lip? Perhaps as a child? You might want to check with your partners about your childhood about this.

Fifty six percent of the US population between the ages of 14-49 have HSV 1 infection, so you in with the majority!

If you have never had a cold sore on your lip or in your nose and you’ve never had genital sores, you cannot know for sure where you infection it on your body.

so that mean I have a virus? i don’t remember anything happened to me when i was child i remember i have chicken pox when i was 17 year old.

That means you have the herpes simplex virus type 1, yes. It is different than chicken pox. It causes cold sores and can also cause genital infection.

What are the chances of getting false positive. I’m very sacred on this. i m not in relationship with anyone before or now and i m from india living in states for almost 4 yrs now. My parents are trying to get me into arranged marriage and i’m scared for my partner I saw lot of stuff online for HSV 1 and they are very scary. I went to the doctor and told her about my report, She didn’t say much about it, she said its normal and you don’t have to worry too much about it.

The numbers are quite high and I don’t think there is a chance of a false positive, honestly.
I don’t know what you saw that was scary, but it is a very common condition and nothing to be scared about.
Unless you have a visible cold sore and kiss the kids, I don’t think you have any worries about infection the children.
