      Hi Terri,

I’ve been with my current partner for 7 years. Prior to this partner I did have several previous sexual encounters. I’ve never had an outbreak to my knowledge. However, I recently discovered a single bump that lead me to get a panel STD check with Labcorp. My results came back positive for HVS-2 with a result of 1.53. (HSV 2 IgG, Type Spec Above High Normal 1.53 0.00-0.90 / index Positive >1.09)

So, I tested again 6 weeks later at Quest and received another positive at 1.96. (hsv-2 (herpes simplex virus type 2) igg Ab, serum – hsv 2 IgG, type specific Ab)

I have ordered the Blot Test, however, I can’t find a doctor that’s willing to help. I’m moving soon and would like to get this done ASAP. Is this something you can help me with?

Yes, I can help you with that. We’ve been out of the country for the past three weeks but will be returning on Nov. 8 and I will be scheduling more appointments in November. – sorry I’m not more available immediately but I think there is a very good chance that this results represent a false positive. We cannot know until we do the blot.

      Terri
