      Hi,

My IgG HSV-2 test was 7.51 in October 2016. This was my first screening for HSV. I have never had an outbreak so I would like to have a confirmatory test,
even though the value was higher than the typically 50/50 range. Should I have another IgG test this year and then a western blot test or go directly to a western blot test?

If directly, how do I have my gynecologist order the test? Thanks!

I would skip another IgG test and go to the blot. You can order the kit from UW and your doc can work with you to get it drawn and shipped to UW. The phone number for the kit is 206-685-6066. If your doc cannot help you, I can help you with this.

Although an index value greater than 7 has a low likelihood of being a false positive,I have had someone with an index value of 12 not confirm by westernblot
