Hello Terrri,
I have a question about my IGG results. I have been getting tested frequently since exposure. Most recently 10 weeks out. All my tests have been through anylabtestnow. I have tested 3 times: first time hsv1 IGG 0.3 and hsv2 IGG <0.200, the next two times hsv1 IGG 0.2 and hsv2 IGG <0.200. I want to believe these results but I’m concerned I may have genital hsv1 from a one time oral sexual encounter. The partner I was with got tested through the same lab and he also had a hsv1 of 0.2 and hsv2 <0.200. My question is if I was truly negative wouldn’t my hsv1 be below <0.200. Do you know why this is? I have a friend who also uses this lab and her tests have always showed her hsv1 IGG <0.200. Should I take a western blot test?
I don’t feel that you need the western blot, no. This is a sound negative and I don’t believe that you need any further testing based on the result. However, the IgG testing misses 30% of HSV 1 infections so if you are particularly concerned about HSV 1, you could do the western blot

When you say misses 30% of infections. What igg would those with false negatives have?
The IgG test misses 30% of HSV 1 infections compared to the western blot
