I had my initial outbreak on my chin and on my genitals for hsv2 all recurring outbreaks have been in chin. When the body sheds the virus asymptotically would you say the shedding occurs at both sites or only in chin? Or does the entire body shed the virus?
Did you actually have the chin lesion swab tested and typed separately from the genital swab? That is, did you get two separate swab test results? Have you had any of the recurrences swabbed and typed?
It is common to shed from both sites at the same time even if one is asymptomatic

Only the chin lesion was swabbed the initial genital outbreak was not swabbed and I haven’t had any reoccurrence disk there.
Can you answer your question the entire body does not shed virus. Only thin skin places like genitals mouth and anus. Were you the giver of oral sex to someone recently before you got the outbreak on your chin? If you were my patient, I would have that outbreak swabbed a second time to be sure there was no mistake with the typing.
