Terri – posted thread under “what is happening,” and trying to just wait out until I can get a diagnosis, but still experiencing burning pain – constant genital, but also intermittent widespread (thighs, rt arm, rt ankle, now upper abdomen). It sounds crazy I know, but believe this is not merely anxiety. The closest thing I can find on the web that sounds like what I am describing is HSV related post herpetic neuralgia. Some website claim this is real, but uncommon symptom. In your experience have you seen this?
My experience is that post herpetic neuralgia with herpes simplex virus is very uncommon. People who have known genital herpes sometimes get pain down the back of the leg before or after a recurrence but what you are talking about is pain all over the place that doesn’t sound anything like PHN to me.
