Had unprotected sex with man who said he has no STDs. 4 months after last sexual encounter, I have flat red marks on my stomach and butt cheeks. They are taking weeks/months to heal. I’d like to upload photo to show what they look like to get an idea of your thoughts but unsure how to do so. Also getting small pinpoint red marks on my thighs that go away in 1-3 days. No pain or itching.

This sounds absolutely nothing like herpes to me. Have you seen a professional about this? So hard to guess what else it might be without a visual (but we don’t allow photos, sorry)

The marks have never blistered, ulcered or scabbed. They are just these marks/bumps that don’t seem to go away. My NP said it looks like folliculitis but said I could go on anti-virals to see if they’d go away without even a diagnosis.

Does small pinpoint red marks on the thighs & butt cheeks sound like herpes?
Are herpes on the stomach common?

Pinpoint red marks do NOT sound like herpes. Herpes on the stomach is not common. Did your NP mention the possibility of molluscum? I’m not a fan of treating with antiviral medication when no diagnosis has been made, honestly, it can impact IgG testing if you decide to do that immediately after new infection.

You might consider seeing a dermatologist

Thank you. My NP did mention molluscum and folliculitis but didn’t tell me much about them or treatment. I guess I have a few more questions. If you and my NP both don’t think its herpes, do I need to disclose? (probably a silly question but just want your opinion). If it is herpes, can it shed from my legs or butt (like if a man touches my legs)? Can he get it from touching my vagina over my underwear?

You don’t need to disclose that you have herpes if you have no proof that you are infected. If you want a clearer answer, get an IgG test, and start there to find out. If you do have herpes, the virus is not shed from the legs or butt. And it is not spread by touching over underwear, definitely not.
