Is it possible to have a minor primary outbreak with groin pain, testical pain on one side, loss of bowel movements (going on 3 days now), irritated anus from receiving oral in the perineum area with ghsv1?
On March 4th I had exposure to someone who was potentially shedding orally in the perineum/anal area. I don’t know if she was ohsv1 or ohsv2. My symptoms started showing 4 days after exposure but over the course of 3 weeks now since I’ve been continuously experiencing these same symptoms. My doctor prescribed me 500mg of valtrex twice per day but it doesn’t seem to be taking affect as I still feel irritation in my groin and anus. In the evenings I feel pressure in my testicles.
To my knowledge I’ve never had any sores appear, no headache, no painful urination, no swollen lymph nodes from what I assessed and no flu-like symptom (like fever, chills, fatigue and body aches.) There was some slight genital itching but don’t know if that was my mind losing it from this possibility.
I got swabbed where my anus was irritated to catch any shedding but still haven’t heard back in almost 1.5 weeks. Im assuming it will be inconclusive as you need fluids to my understanding.
I read a lot that ghsv1 almost always has a bad primary outbreak within 2-14 days of exposure and ghsv2 goes unnoticed for a while, but could ghsv1 still be a possibility in this case?
Any guidance would be appreciated.
None of the symptoms that you describe, exact the constipation, really worry me and even that, not so much, herpes doesn’t cause groin pain or testicular pain either. Have you had an antibody test at any point to determine if you already have HSV 1 infection? Have you ever had a cold sore in your lifetime?
