i was infected by a man who had a whitlow lesion it turns out , have been symptom free on valtrex x 2 years, has 1-3 OB including initial until started valtrex 500 mg every day
i have not been sexually active in the past 2 years , have disclosed status and things didnt work out
i did have oral sex recently and now feel guilty that I didnt disclose prior , but somehow had convinced myself i had read in the westover manual ( before the update) that it hasn’t been seen but rarely,”transmission of type 2 with oral sex.”( clarification: woman with infection is receiving the oral sex, not giving the sex ”
if it is “possible” what would be the the risk factor percentage wise
So I want to be sure that I understand your question. You received oral sex from someone, is that correct? And your question is how likely is it that you transferred HS V2 from your genitals to that person’s mouth? The risk is incredibly low for transmission in this way as type II does not like the mouth. It is not zero. If you want to percent, I would say maybe one or 2% at the most. That is a guest and is not based on any study that we have about this topic
Probably significantly lower, but we just don’t know for sure but that’s a guess that is probably close.
