Hey, hope you’re doing well! I have some concerns! Although I have never had any symptoms, outbreaks or anything that would let me think otherwise! I asked for a IGG herpes reflex test tested positive for both: HSV 1- (1.72) & HSV 2- (2.98) I got a supplemental test that came back (NEGATIVE)
Prior to this back in 2017 I tested 0.91 (negative) for HSV 1 & for HSV 2 (3.84)
& all off my igm were negative for both (they tested at the same time as the others)
& I took a test before this that had the same results, negative for HSV 1 & positive for HSV 2 with a result of (3.41) im losing my mind with this, and I just want your opinion on what I need to do and if i need to disclose, I want to assume it’s a false positive bc I’ve not had one symptom and wouldn’t think twice if I didn’t order those stupid igg tests.
There is good agreement between a negative supplemental test with LabCorp and a negative western blot. If you want to do the blot you surely can, but I suspect you will be negative.
Terri
