› Forums › Herpes Questions › Kiss my friend on the lips risk
Hi teri
I was on a traveling trip with a friend and was recently tested negative on a western blot and had 0 exposure since then for Hsv 1 and 2.
I kissed him on the lips. It was a closed lip kiss that lasted a few seconds.
I didn’t realize he had herpes at the time, but during our trip about 2 days after the kiss he started getting prodromal symptoms followed by blisters the next day. (During the kiss I did not see any lesions)
How likely am I to have contracted herpes from him?
How long ago was this? If more than 10 days, you almost certainly did not acquire HSV from him. And a closed mouth kiss lasting a few second also presents almost no risk.
