Hello
Like many people on here I obtained a standard sti panel through labcorp.
I tested positive for hsv1, which was already aware of.
My hsv2 results came back as abnormal with an igg of 3.08
The supplemental test was negative.
Per their advice I scheduled a follow up confirmation test but if it comes back both positive and negative again, I’m not sure what to do from there. I won’t be able to afford a western blot test in the near future.
I have had symptoms, but my hsv1 is genital so I’m not sure if that means anything at all.
Since the supplemental test was negative, I suspect that you are not infected with HSV-2. We now have 38 subjects who are positive on the LabCorp IgG test, negative on the supplemental test, and negative on the western blot. If you are unable to do a western blot then I think you can make a relatively safe assumption that you are not infected with HSV-2. This is based on the negative supplemental test.
Terri
