Hey Terri. I’ve never had any symptoms of anything (def not cold sore or blister my whole life) and I’ve been with the same girl for over 5 years (she’s also had no symptoms of any kind and she’s been to the dr regularly). Recently I decided to do a “10 panel” std test for the heck of it and was surprised by the results.

Hsv1- 50.10
Hsv2- 1.58
What are the chances this is a false negative?
I do take an Ahcc supplement. Would that impact at all? Thank you!
There is an 85% chance that this is a false positive, compared to the gold standard herpes western blot.
I don’t know about the impact of that particular supplement, sorry. You should consider getting a western blot for clarification, surely

Looking into that now. Given that I’ve never had any symptoms, should anything really change in my life?
well, that’s hard to say for sure because technically you are positive for HSV 2, though it is likely a false positive though I have seen real positives at that level. I would discuss this with your partner. If she has no concerns, then you could let it go if you don’t want to do the blot
