ive posted before here regarding my exposure. exposure was in june with a masseuse

Any ways ive tested for full STD including herpes HSV1 & 2 (IGG and IGM) two weeks after exposure (Negative for all).

On 20th of October 2014 i did full STD including herpes select for HSV 1&2 (IGG and IGM) four tests negative (where i come from it is a standard to do IGM, even the doctor said its useless but it comes with the package for testing, but the look for the IGG results).. and in 16th of December 2014 i did full STD test including Herpes HSV1&2 came out also negative.

second week of Jan 2015 i did HIV test and Herpes select test also came out negative for HSV1&2… I havent had any sexual encounter ever since 19th june 2014…..

im getting married soon thats why im worried…. help me close this chapter terri. hearing from you that i dont need testing will make me feel better.

– My question is Do i need another test at 1 year mark?

– just want to understand if 3-4 month conclusivity takes in account the risk factor.( no condom for example). Thats why im asking if i need to repeat the test again at 12 month mark ( i do not have symptoms, just shaving pimples sometimes i get that makes me worried )

Yes, I honestly and totally believe that you are in the clear. If you still feel unclear, you can have the western blot run, but I think you’re good here!

Hi Terri…

I would like to thank you a lot for helping me moving on with my life. thinking of hiv and herpes made my life a living hell. you can’t imagine how u helped me to move on . Day by day .
I was thinking lately that after my sexual encounter on 19 of June 2014 . I kissed a girl I met on September . Let’s say she has herpes . will that delay the antibodies of hsv2 if I’m positive from my sexual encounter? As I said October I tested for both hsv1&2 igg both negative . And in December hsv2 negative . And November 2015 I did both hsv1&2 igg for both negative … So the November test should rule out any herpes infection since its 4 month after my kiss and 6 months from my sexual encounter…..???

Or it will be delayed further ?? I got married last week and I wanna sleep with my wife without worries ….. Plz.

No, even if you acquired oral herpes in September, I think if you had acquired HSV 1 in June, you would likely have made antibody before the September kiss. I think you are really fine. Sleep with your wife and put this away! This should be a joyous time for you.

Sorry again I couldn’t post this yesterday. But I couldn’t help noticing u said if I required hsv1 the kiss won’t effect antibodies development. What about HSV2 ? Is that effected . Or the October tests and December for HSV2 conclusive??

I meant to say it would not affect antibody development for HSV 2. Yes, the October and December tests were done when plenty of time had elapsed for accuracy – no worries. The test package insert indicates that this test picks up 97% of HSV 2 infection and 91% of HSV 1 infections.

im really sorry to bother you, i swear this is the last info that i need to understand, just educate me on this.

when i last slept with my GF on April 2014, then the june 2014 encounter happened with the masseuse. the tests (October 2014, December 2014 and Jan 2015) done cancels all previous encounters for HSV1 &2 right?

what im trying to say is STD tests are always done from the last sexual encounter 3 months later. or with herpes different.??.. (it dosent affect the tests cause its taken 4-6-7 month after masseuse encounter and 6-8-9 months after sex with GF on April.) So all in All The Tests are still conclusive.. Right…

im sorry again. i swear this is the last time you will read from me here after this…. i just got married two weeks ago and you can see why im paranoid…. again im sorry to bother you with my annoying questions … best regards!

i met my ex GF December 2013 and started having only oral sex only , both receiving and giving. sex only around march or April cant remember . then we broke up. i dont think she had herpes as it should show up on the july 2014 test… i think…

(dont know if this info will help, or as what i mentioned earlier that the test is conclusive from the last sexual encounter and all other sexual encounters before that dosent matter as its already negative on October 2014, December 2014 and jan 2015. … i mean antibodies development wont be affected…..

Still tests are conclusive regardless the info i gave before My Last sexual encounter or the kiss on September. … im right ya?

Ahhhhh terri . Don’t know why I keep remembering the small details …. Along with the kiss on September. I sucked on the nipples .. does that have anything to do with my results or I’m still free of hsv.
Jan2015 test that had negative for hsv1 &2 should show that didn’t have herpes from this act also (Nipple suking ) —

i just a renewed for one more reassurance question. I understand and trust all my result and i trust your judgment as i mentioned before, as you said people need reassurance,

its regarding the September 2014 kiss, if i contracted oral herpes (HSV1) from that act then the JAnuary 2015 test HSV1 still conclusive … right ! I dont think the girl had oral herpes as i asked her and she looked at me like im a crazy person (hahaha) and said of cuorce no. but you know me im paranoid, and i understand that majority of people have it, its just not common in our community, and the girl is not from our community, but she still said she dont have it. thats why im asking, dont wanna transfer it to my wife then she will be asking some serious questions . or at least i can be mentally prepared…
I know im just paranoid and dont have oral (just need reassurance) nor genitals herpes (this im 100% sure of)…..

I know i sound like a crazy person…. im trusting the results, dont worry nothing changed. just a reassurance question and hopefully its the last cause i dont think i have anything else to remember from my past.

You’ve seen my quotation of the sensitivity of the HSV 1 and HSV 2. So you know that the test misses about 1-2 cases out of 10 HSV 1 infections. Having said that, since you have no symptoms at all and didn’t have any after kisses that girl (not your wife) I still don’t think you have HSV 1 infection. The only way you are going to get more certain about the HSV 1 thing is to get a herpes western blot and if you live outside the US, that would be both expensive and not easy but it can be done.

Oh boy!! Now I’m more confused and worried.(wished I haven’t asked )). but still 3-4 months is a very good time to have a conclusive result. And I’m in Dubai and hard to get western blot test. To US. What do u suggest . Just trust the results and move on or there is a way to send blood sample ??

I described the accuracy of the testing in a post on April 7th, giving you these same percentages. I’m not clear why you are confused now and were not on that date. It’s the same information.
So you have two choices now and only two. You either believe your results (which I think you should) or you arrange, with our help, to have your blood drawn for a western blot and sent to the US. Those are the only two solutions that I see for your situation. there is really nothing more that you can ask me that will make this clearer for you, I am afraid.

I have just paid and I asked only one follow up question… Anyways I’ll renew again if that is the case. On April 9th I didn’t mention the kiss of September. That’s all . I’m worried about that . thanks,! i just wanted to make sure you understood my concern earlier, i feel you didnt. let me rephrase it. The time from the September 2014 kiss (one time event only) and the Jan 2015 test plenty of time had elapsed for the test to be solid . Thats it.

If you what you said (believe im fine ) knowing that fact then im relieved and happy to put it behind me (as this is what im assuming you meant, and im moving on. ) ….

I hope you considered the time from from September till jan, if you did then im trusting that test as i think i should.

It’s not exactly 4 month mark cause I don’t remember exactly the dates . Might be off by 2 weeks maximum. 3 months and two weeks . If this counts just as good then I believe I’m fine no more testing and worries and moving on…
