Left foot and hand tingling 1 month after initial ob
Male 26 years old.
Hello dr. what can cause that after 1 month of my initial hsv2 genitall (buttock) outbreak I have tingling/burning sensation (still feel when im touched) on my left foot sole and left hand also needle mild pain in fingertips of hands and feet of both sides of the body.
I’ve been on high anxiety thats what I thought it could be but when I take valacyclovir the numbness reduces or maybe placebo as I think it should. Also when I am sleeping theres no tingling but it appears just after waking up and thinking about it. It’s been 1 full day with the tingling, today I dont feel the one on my foot just in the hand. I’ve been searching for info and MS appears, am I being dilusional? Thanks

All does symptoms were anxiety took an MRI and it was ok.
Now my question is if I really have hsv2, exposure was september 7 (received protected anal) and i started with a not so itchy rash on my left inner buttom buttock, as of october 4, got it like for 3-4 days (i did scratch it) then blisters that were very white appeared a tiny 2 by 3 cms localized spot. They were cero painful or itchy at that time and healed after 5 days with really no scabbing. I also did a lot of cycling 2 days before the rash appeared, could this be a prickly heat, from not showering while sweaty? as I’ve seen pictures that could resemble my blisters.
Also took an igm hsv2 when I had the blisters came negative and a igg at 45 days after exposure came back 2.5.(could this be a low positive?)
What are the odds of developing syntoms after 1 month?
What are the odds of transmission from protected man to man anal sex?
I live in Mexico is there a dr or hospital you know that can send a blood sample for the Western Blot?

We don’t have statistics on male to male transmission. The IgG is a low positive for sure and a western blot is ideal. You would need to find someone in Mexico to draw your blood and it would need to be shipped to UW and if you wanted me to help, we would need a video conference. If you get the rash again, please have it swab tested for HSV. I really can’t tell what this might be from your description. One month is way too long for a true primary infection to show up

Thank you Terri do you have any contacts you can refer me to here in Mexico City of course being through you the communication?
And also, what is the percentage (give or take) of symptoms after one month exposure.

I don’t have any contacts in Mexico City, I’m afraid, and we also don’t have a percentage of symptoms one month after exposure. Sorry about that.
