34/m here, 7 1/2 weeks ago received oral.as i ejaculated i felt a sharp pain at the right side of urethral opening.woke up to stinging and painful urination.2 days pass i have pains in penile head and two red small fleshy slight bumps side of the opening of penile hole. from what i could tell never blistered or looked like sores ….and redness at urethral opening where the pain was with hot pee and urethra pain. it makes my penile hole look like lips. fast forward 10 days post i get checked for uti, trich, gon, clym all neg. was given doxy 7days/and gon shot for precaution. hot pee urethra pain stop within 12hours. over the following week felt fatigue constant trips to pee, pains in pelvis groin and thighs, also some pins and needle feeling on and off in different places and muscle aches(maybe some of this was anxiety/stress related not sure). 2 weeks go by still stressed and i have constipation for a 5-7 days that eventually follows perineum pains with slight discomfort in the scrotum. two days into the perineum pain i wake up nearly pain free. here i am 7 1/2 weeks later from the day this happens with those two bumps slightly smaller/healing i guess. urethral opening a little less constricted with all other symptoms subsided besides some discomfort in penile head if i were to hold back pee/ejac and very occasional slight testical warmth/pain. just lost i guess as i don’t think hsv sores last this long from what i’ve read but some of my symptoms early on line up in the time frame. especially with them starting so soon.
that’s a lot to take in but does any of this sound related to your field? i’m not sure what to do. i feel as though these bumps at urethral opening have been there to long to consider hsv…maybe they can linger on? i see most people 4 weeks is considered quite long period even for a first breakout of sores/blisters etc.
anyidea/thoughts would be appreciated. for now i’m just enjoying not being a 10/10 with pain after the last month and a half.

The symptoms and physical presentation that you describe sound absolutely nothing like herpes. You are correct that the bumps in the urethra have been there way too long to suggest herpes. Plus herpes does not form lesions that look like that. I’m glad that your pain has resolved but I don’t think that herpes was the cause.

thank you for the timely response. i see so many people explaining their hsv in so many different forms on the internet which brought me here.
1. you said the physical presentation sounds like hsv. do you mean the way i’m feeling? also stated hsv doesn’t form lesions that present like that or last this long. i would say they were like raised fleshy looking. smaller in size.
2.in your professional opinion from receiving oral which hsv would this be if it is.
3. understandably i know your not here to give a diagnoses. but from what i’ve described what would you recommend me testing for. Dr seems somewhat passive seeing how i’m not really showing symptoms. i may just head to a local lab and pay.

I’m so sorry, that was a typo. Your symptoms sound nothing like herpes to me.
the type of herpes you get from oral is HSV 1
There are many false positives on the IgG test – I would advise against it at this time because of that.Terri

i know your expertise is in hsv. i’m just looking for some guidance in what i should possibly go and test for. Being that it was oral sex i’m also counting out HIV at this point seeing how transmission giving or receiving oral is unheard of the way it looks. what else could have caused those physical symptoms was it stress/anxiety? obviously we automatically fear the worst in these situations. i’ve looked into prostatitis, seems like that has some similarities. any insight would be awesome on really where to go from here and from what i described maybe you have a educated guess?
thanks terri

So I assume you’ve been tested for the regular stuff – gonorrhea, chlamydia, M Gen, bacteria? Other than that, I’m not what else to suggest, honestly. Have you had your urine checked?
