Dear Terri. I had a little shin in the glans. I get tested locally for HSV1 NAA and HSV2 NAA and HSV/CULTURE/TYPE and they were negative. The urologist recommended the IgG test and its supplemental test, the IgG was high 2.73 but the supplemental was negative. A month later we repeated the same exams and IgG was 2.65 but the supplemental was positive this time. until now my girlfriend is negative in both exams, but since then we haven’t slept. We are having a really bad time as a couple as you can imagine. I don’t remember having anything before and what I had the Dr said it didn’t look like herpes, no pain, no nothing. He said it was maybe balanitis. I ordered the kit for western blot and I will make the test asap. My questions: what do you think about my case? If I really am low positive is there a possibility I cannot transmit the virus?
Manny thanks.
I think the supplemental test is not often accurate when it is positive. I have 96 people now who test positive on the supplemental test and negative on the blot. Your previous negative on the supplemental should be encouraging to you!
Terri
