Hello Terri, i have spent the last few days just reading everything on your website and was hoping for some help/insight. I am a 20 year old female. I had just had unprotected sex for the very first time. I had absolutely no symptoms of herpes at all, but i did a full Std panel at Labcorp just because i thought it was the correct thing to do. We had been having sex for a about a year, and after we broke it off that’s when i decided to get the panel. I had some unusual discharge but that was it, and that has since gone away. All my results came back negative/normal except for the hpv-2 test. It came back at a 1.15 IgG level. Barely a positive. My heart immediately sunk. As i was reading my report, i saw where i actually texted negative for the hsv-2 supplemental test that Labcorp does when you are in that range. And that sent me into another deep dive on the internet. I have never had a blister, pain while urinating, or itching so i am completely confused. I know it can be asymptomatic, but i was just wanting your input on it and if i should get the western blot. I did a confirmatory test and I’m waiting on results, and i have an appointment with my healthcare provider in a few days. I just need help, because i was not expecting this at all.
Hi I’m in a very similar boat. I had a low positive ig 1.29 index and a negative supplemental test result. But unlike you I took a confirmation test and got a positive. (89.9H) inhibition interpretation but a 1.39 igg screening index. I dont know what to think. I’m waiting to take the western blot.
